FAQs

Q.  With Picklefish NZ closing where can I buy your products?

A.  At this stage we will not be offering our products beyond here, once we close we close and all our items will cease to exist.  Its possible you can get some second hand from other sources.  Thanks for all your Custom over the years.

Q.  Will you ever sell your patterns?  Can I buy them from you and get someone else to sew your products?

A.  No.  My patterns are my Intellectual Property or are licensed to whomever designed them and allowed me a license to produce.  My patterns won't be available to buy.  My Blog will continue to offer some ideas for adapting and I may offer more tips and techniques in the future.

Q.  Will you sell your business, fabrics, equipment or patterns?

A.  No.  Our Business is not for sale.  It is named after our child and we don't want anyone else using that name.

Q.  Will you ever be back in the future?

A.  No.  This is it for Picklefish NZ, I understand that you love what we make and I appreciate it will be hard to get these products once I am gone.  But owing to life/family commitments I will not be back.

Q.  If I contact you via Social Media, Email or Phone and ask you still make me items off and on?

A.  Sorry, No.  Please understand that I am closing so I can focus on my own child and his ongoing needs.  I would appreciate you respect that.

Q. How do I know what size to choose?

A. We advise when choosing a Picklefish Product that you check our size charts here and measure your child before buying an item.  This is especially important with our swim nappies.  If you are unsure how to measure your child please contact us for advice and assistance.  We prefer measurements in centimeters.

Q.  I have some adaptions I want to my order how can I request them?

A. We get asked frequently for changes to our Picklefish Products so feel free to message, email or contact us via our Instagram or Facebook pages if you need to discuss your specific needs.  We do our best to accommodate you.

Q. I want to pickup my order is that Possible?

A.  We offer a pickup service from our workshop in Rolleston, Canterbury  Its best that you get in contact to arrange pickup if needed.  Please use the code PICKUP for free shipping and contact us to organise.

Q. How long will my order take to ship?

A.  Picklefish NZ is now closing down so items are in stock and should ship next day.  Items can take a week to arrive owing to courier turn around times.  We have no control over the couriers delivery times.

Q.  Are my items made in New Zealand?

A.  Yes! We sew all and design 99% of all items we offer here in New Zealand from imported product.  In stock items are usually not customised or able to be adjusted.  However you can get in contact and discuss specific needs which is what we are known for.  Because we sew and design our own items we can also adjust as needed.  But as a small business that means we are often very busy and things can take longer than anticipated.  Please see above for turn around time for your orders.

Q.  Does Picklefish NZ work sustainably?

A. We here at Picklefish NZ strive to use recycled and sustainable packaging in all our shipping.  We use eco produced paper for all our printing including the label that is shipped.  We use compostable shipping bags and cellophane packaging for your orders.  We try to source as many products as possible in NZ to cut down our carbon miles and support the local economy.  We often strive to use Organic or recycled products.  That includes our reclaimed Nylon and polyester often used in our swim nappies and swimwear.  Often our swimwear is made from reclaimed nylon from old fishing nets would you believe?  Our organic knits also use Oeko Tex certified inks so you know they are safe.  We import a lot of our fabrics and don't always know the supply chain and how they are produced but we work very hard to source as sustainably and eco consciously as we can.  Its not always possible to do so.  Our swim nappies and pull-ups are removing disposable ones from the eco system and we are happy about that!
